Giving the Word of Life
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. (Psalms 19:7)
In a Post-Christian era where more and more do not believe in God or teach their children about faith, many profess belief but seem unconcerned about their soul’s welfare. The cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust of other things enters in. With these distractions, the Word of God does not bear fruit and eternity is not considered.
We live in a nation of much material wealth, but with great spiritual poverty. The pleasures of this world have not brought lasting satisfaction and the heart of man is in desperate need of meaning and hope, only to be found through God’s Word. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Faith comes to men when they hear the Truth concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, which is based on the written word of God. Offering Bibles to a lost world is an opportunity to show the love of God, the power of His Spirit and the promises to those who place their faith in Jesus Christ and are truly born again.
Thirst for the Truth
Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:14)
Without Christ, there is a great emptiness in the soul and a continual thirst to fill that void. The water which Jesus gives truly satisfies. Whoever drinks of Christ's blessings and mercies will never thirst again. Not only do His benefits fill the heart, but they run over. They are like a bubbling fountain, constantly overflowing, not only in this life but in eternity as well. The pleasures of this world are for a few short years, but the pleasures which Christ provides go on into everlasting life.
We should be concerned about the terrible consequences of the absence of Biblical influence in the lives of others. God needs hands and hearts that are available to Him. The fields are ripe for harvest and laborers are needed. Distribution of the Scriptures is one of the greatest joys we have as Christians. In addition to our next door neighbors that need to hear the Word, there are millions of foreigners living in the U.S. who have never owned a Bible in their life.
Bibles distributed
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. (Psalms 68:11)
A semi-truck load of Bibles is distributed each year by our brotherhood. Last year around 60,000 Bibles were distributed. Many of the Bibles were distributed in health care facilities, college campuses, truck stops, restaurants, gas stations, retirement homes, motels and businesses. Bibles are also sent to Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Eastern Europe and many other countries served by World Relief and the Mission Committee. Anyone who gives a Bible is a part of this wonderful work.
Bibles and books available
And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. (John 17:26)
Bibles, Study Bibles, concordances, Bible dictionaries, Bible story-books, Bible on CD, large print Bibles and large family Bibles are available. We offer Bibles in English, Spanish, and Creole. When we consider a gift for someone, we have the special privilege of sharing the Word of God.
Developing relationships
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Romans 10:15)
The placement of the Word is just one step in the process of delivering the Truth to a troubled world. Just handing someone a Bible may still leave them far behind. We should be willing to take the time to build a relationship with people who have an interest. If we use the opportunity to discuss the Word and disciple others, it will bless them, and it can also help us appreciate the Word more ourselves. When we become involved in humble service for others, we find a greater motivation to diligence in our own devotions, Bible reading and obedience.
Thank you
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:3)
Through local congregations, individuals, a special committee, or as a young group activity, Bibles have been given to individuals who have been richly blessed. We hope each Bible is a treasure to its recipient. We pray that they will be read, and the will of God revealed to many. There is opportunity for all of us to help in this important work.
Every Godly humble life is the most effective distribution of the Word. The continued faithfulness of our Brotherhood is greatly appreciated. There could be no Bible Distribution without your support. Thank you for your prayers and participation in this important work. May it always be done to the glory and honor of our great God.
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (Psalm 1:1-2)
