Vision For New & Smaller Churches

Increasing Awareness

Our small churches will flourish in God's kingdom as our brotherhood becomes more aware of the needs and opportunities in various locations and responds as His Spirit leads.

Fulfilling the Great Commission

In Matthew 28, Christ instructs us to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you."

It was Christ's intent that His message and the power of His blood be made available to all who would believe. While it is not for everyone to be a missionary in a foreign land, all Christians should show Christ's love and confess His name where we are placed. It is the responsibility and opportunity for the church to send believers who are sufficiently grounded, and who answer the call, to proclaim the Gospel message of salvation and nurture the church.

Sending Brethren

Experienced brethren need to be sent to support new and growing churches. "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed, and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard, and how shall they hear without a preacher? Rom. 10:14

The example of the early church was to send ministers (Paul and Barnabas) to spread the gospel and to send men learned and grounded in the faith (Titus and Timothy) to teach and guide the early churches. Other scriptures to consider: Mark 8:34-38, II Cor. 8:11, Isalah 6:8, Gal. 6:2

Establishing Sustainable Healthy Churches

New and small churches should grow and transition from needing sustenance from others to having sufficient capacity and strength to support all aspects of the local body of Christ.

We invite you to share this vision.
